Life at Burra
Life at Burra Foods reflects the enterprising, hardworking ethos of our customers and milk supply partners. We are grounded and respectful, we listen, think laterally to solve problems and discover new possibilities.
Burra Foods values sustained relationships and takes pride in creating employment and training opportunities for the next generation. We are committed to developing our team and building on this strong foundation.
Here’s how one of our team members describes the culture at Burra Foods …
It’s unique, almost like a large family who care and support people to achieve their professional and personal goals. It’s collegiate, built on high levels of trust between managers and staff who are customer-focused and driven to deliver for customers. It encourages innovation, drives for growth and embraces challenges.
Be rewarded for extra effort
Burra Foods runs a generous employee benefits program, providing a huge range of performance and social incentives during the year. Examples include the monthly Burrilliant Awards recognising people who go above and beyond in delivering their normal duties, Christmas parties for staff and children, company-subsidised staff cycling and running clubs, and free health and wellbeing and social programs – to list a few!
Workplace experience for a new generation
Engineering students from Monash University are sponsored by the Gardiner Dairy Foundation to work with Burra Foods on industry placements. Burra staff decide a series of projects to put forward for consideration and the university allocates students to the project. Students are accommodated in Korumburra rent-free and receive a stipend through the foundation. Previous projects include improving the factory’s water use and achieving greater efficiency from the milk dryer. In some instances, students take on permanent employment with the company.
