Executive Team
Stewart joined Burra Foods in June 2015 as General Manager Supply Chain and was appointed CEO in January 2020.
Stewart brings strong operations, supply chain and technical experience gained from 25 years in the dairy industry working for Kraft Foods, Mondelez, Bega Cheese and Tatura Milk Industries.
He holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Applied Science and lives in West Gippsland with his family.
James joined Burra Foods in August 2019 as Financial Controller and now leads the company’s finance function.
A qualified Chartered Accountant, James brings over 10 years of experience in senior finance roles to Burra Foods. James understands the importance of building collaborative relationships across the business to deliver value, while supporting effective financial controls, planning and analysis.
James lives in Melbourne with his family.
Josephine joined Burra Foods in April 2021 leading the company’s sales and marketing function.
Josephine brings over 20 years of experience leading sales and marketing functions predominantly in agribusinesses such as Treasury Wine Estates, Sugar Australia & Lion Dairy and Drinks. Jo is passionate about customers and understands the importance of creating competitive customer value propositions and building long-term partnerships to drive sustainable sales growth.
Jo, originally from Sydney, now lives in Melbourne with her family.
Dan joined Burra Foods in late 2019, bringing expertise in quality assurance and knowledge of specialised niche production of protein products through to large scale nutritionals.
He has worked across quality, technical and laboratory areas in the dairy industry for 15 years. Raised on a dairy farm at Waikato in the heart of New Zealand’s industry, Dan has knowledge and skills ranging from milking on-farm right through to quality design of new facilities.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science (biology) and moved to Melbourne in 2016 with his family.
Helen relocated to South Gippsland and joined Burra Foods in August 2002. She has seen rapid growth within the company since her commencement.
Helen has a Bachelor of Science and Diploma of Food Technology where she worked in both quality and production roles at Kraft Foods. With a grass roots understanding of the business, Helen trained and evolved in the HR manager role with specific experience in learning and development, industrial relations, and organisational development.
Helen is passionate about helping people fulfill their potential.
Jimmy joined Burra Food in September 2023 as an Executive Director and Deputy GM of Finance.
Before Joining Burra, he had more than 15 years of experience in business financial management, corporate governance, risk, and strategy, predominantly in the agriculture, wholesale, and manufacturing businesses.
Jimmy was born in China and has living in Australia for 20 years, including 16 years in Melbourne. Jimmy has a Postgraduate degree in Accounting from Monash University, a full member of CPA Australia, and a Graduate member of AICD.
Matt brings 25 years’ experience in Operations, Project Management and Supply Chain, with strong dairy and infant formula knowledge gained through roles with Mead Johnson Nutrition, Murray Goulburn and more recently, managing the full Supply Chain for Nuchev, a publicly listed infant nutrition business based in Melbourne.
Holding a Chemical Engineering Degree and an MBA in Technology Management, Matt has gained his experiences from many roles throughout his career, including engineering and projects, production, operations, and supply chain management. He is currently an executive team member at Nuchev and is a Non-Executive Director of the Infant Nutrition Council, who are a peak body representing the Australian and New Zealand infant formula and toddler milk industry.
Milk Supply Team
Peter has more than 25 years in the dairy industry both in manufacturing and as a farmer.
He worked at the Bonlac Foods factory in Drouin during the 1990s while completing a Diploma in Dairy Technology before he took up a role at Murray Goulburn’s Leongatha factory. Following that, he leased an 80-hectare dairy farm at Poowong where he milked 220 cows for eight years.
In 2010, Peter returned to the manufacturing side of the industry when he joined Burra Foods as a production supervisor. He then progressed to Production Manager before moving into the role of Milk Supply Manager which sees him maintain relationships with Burra’s milk supply partners while ensuring required milk volumes are met.
Clint joined Burra Foods in August 2020 as a Milk Supply Officer.
Clint has been in the dairy industry for the last 13 years, having previously worked as an The Gippsland Territory Manager for Ecolab. Prior to that Clint worked for UDP in milk scheduling.
Clint lives in Poowong with his wife Heather and two children Jai and Macy. Clint and his family enjoy spending time participating in local and community sports events.
Simon joined Burra Foods in July of 2023 as a Milk Supply Officer.
Originally from the UK, Simon brings to Burra significant dairy experience having completed a Bachelor of Agriculture and Countryside Management from the University of Wales.
Simon has had a life-long passion for agriculture, particularly within the dairy sector and this has taken Simon to NZ, then back to the UK and then on to Australia where he has been employed in a variety of dairy farm management roles over the past 14 years.
Karen started working with Burra Foods in January 2019 after spending 16 years with Landmark processing data from the Korumburra and Koonwarra livestock saleyards.
In her role as Milk Supply Administrator, Karen monitors the milk that comes into the factory from farms. She checks milk quality and reports back to farmers.
Karen lives locally in Korumburra.
Sales Team
Des has been with Burra Foods since January 2010 when he took up the role of Business Development Manager associated with the company’s investment in a new spray dryer, commissioned in August 2010.
His position was subsequently converted to Sales Manager and he has extensive experience in international sales and marketing of dairy products – both within Australia and Europe.
Harvey originally joined Burra Foods in 2007 and worked in a number of different roles for the following 10 years. After spending four years in a planning role with Inghams Enterprises, Harvey returned to Burra Foods taking on the role of Domestic Business Manager.
Harvey has had a long career in the food manufacturing sector and worked in some of Australia’s iconic FMCG brands, including Sunbeam Foods and Inghams Enterprises, in the areas of operations management, production planning, logistics and finance.
Harvey has a business management degree and a Diploma of Accounting.
Harvey lives on the Bass Coast with his family.
Hishey has over 15 years’ experience in B2B sales for Food and Beverage and Health and Nutritional companies in Australia. Her expertise lies in being able to effectively manage customer relationships along with managing key projects.
Hishey lives in Sydney with her family.
